Daily Text Out - Is What You See, What You Get?
I have heard it said that there is a constant war going on in our souls. In that, we do not want others to see who we really are because they might see that we are imperfect, that you might not be exactly who they thought you were. They might see things that you thought you had well hidden.
When who you are on the outside matches who you are on the inside, then you have wholeness, soundness, completeness. Then you are living in honesty. Then you are congruent. Then you are authentic. Authentic - not perfect.
Choosing to live a congruent, authentic life takes courage. No more compromising. No more hiding. No more pretending. But the freedom and wholeness are so worth it. This is God's desire for you that every corner of your life be filled with honesty and truth with no gaps between your beliefs and your behaviors.
Weekend Journaling Exercise:
What gaps do you see in your life between who others think you are and who you really are? Be specific
Why do you think those gaps exit?
Do you think I am trying to make people accept me? No, God is the One I am trying to please. Am I trying to please people? If I still wanted to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
